The machines a 3–5 gallon barrel water plant needs, from water treatment and barrel washing to filling, capping and shrink sleeving, and how to pick a capacity from 120 to 1,500 BPH.

Barrel water for offices, homes and dispensers is one of the most accessible ways into the bottled water business. Because the containers are returnable, the plant must clean them as carefully as it fills them. This is the equipment list we start from.

1. Water treatment

  • Source water pump and raw water tank
  • Silica sand filter and activated carbon filter
  • Softener (when the source water is hard)
  • Precision filter and reverse osmosis
  • Ozone generator and mixing tower, UV sterilizer
  • Stainless steel pure water tank

2. Returned-barrel handling

  • De-capper — removes old caps automatically.
  • Outside brushing machine — cleans the outer surface.
  • Inner and outer brushing — for heavily soiled barrels.
  • Barrel loading and conveying to the filler.

3. Washing, filling and capping

The barrel filler combines multi-stage washing (alkaline or detergent wash, disinfectant, pure-water rinse), filling and capping in one machine. Models range from compact 120 BPH units to our QGF-450 and QGF-600 machines and complete 1,500 BPH lines.

4. Finishing

  • Lamp inspection
  • Cap shrink sleeving with a heat-shrink tunnel
  • Bagging and stacking
