How to Extend the Service Life of a 3-in-1 Filling Machine

The 3-in-1 monobloc — rinser, filler and capper in one frame — is the heart of most beverage lines. It protects product quality and drives the efficiency of the whole plant. How well it is installed, commissioned, operated and maintained decides how long it keeps doing both.

Before first use

• Install, then commission. Read the operating manual before commissioning and have the right tools ready.
• Level the machine and the bottle path. Set the filling track and make sure bottles enter level.
• Start with all switches off. Fill the product tank with every electrical switch in the off position.
• Earth the supply. Connect to a properly earthed socket to protect operators and electronics, then switch on and confirm the power indicator.

Setting up the filling station

• Check that each filling nozzle moves freely in its positioning sleeve — it should extend and retract smoothly.
• Open the tank outlet valve so product reaches the metering system.
• Set the fill volume for the container, then bring the filling speed up gradually rather than starting at full speed.

Cleaning after production

• Drain any remaining product before cleaning.
• Clean product-contact parts with a mild detergent, followed by a thorough rinse — or run the CIP cycle on lines equipped with automatic cleaning.
• When removing pistons or valves for cleaning, keep fixing screws with their parts so re-assembly is correct the first time.
• Do not add lubricant to cylinders that were lubricated at the factory — extra oil compromises hygiene.

Routine checks

Correct operation alone is not enough. Schedule regular inspection and re-adjustment of fill levels, capping torque, sensors and wear parts. A machine that is checked routinely stays accurate and stable, and small problems are caught before they stop the line.
